Medical Student
The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine UTSA
San Antonio, Texas, United States
I am a third-year medical student at the University of Texas San Antonio Long School of Medicine with a strong interest in vascular surgery due to the field's technological innovation and procedural creativity. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biochemistry and minors in Sociology and Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology), which shaped my appreciation for both the biological and social determinants of health. My academic and research interests focus on the intersection of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. I am passionate about lifestyle medicine and exploring how behavioral and lifestyle modifications can be used to prevent and improve chronic vascular and metabolic disease. Additionally, as a South Asian trainee, I am committed to advancing health outcomes within South Asian communities, where cardiometabolic disease presents a significant burden. I hope to pursue a career in vascular surgery, motivated by the field’s rapid advancements, complex pathology, and its unique capacity to meaningfully improve patient quality of life.
