Ankita Katukota, BS, is a second year M.D. candidate at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Her research focuses on outcomes in vascular surgery, including the efficacy of ablation therapies for superficial venous disease and factors associated with major adverse limb events following redo infrainguinal bypasses. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in Science Journals and The New England Journal of Medicine AI, and to abstracts accepted for presentation at national meetings such as the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. She has also presented her work at the University of Michigan Coller Surgical Society and the University of Florida Department of Surgery Research Day. She is a recipient of the American Venous Forum’s Annual Meeting Scholarship and the University of Florida’s Health Disparities and Community Health Award. She is also enrolled in the Surgical Mentorship Discovery Pathway in the College of Medicine, where she is developing expertise in surgical research and mentorship. In addition to her academic work, she serves on the Research in Medical Education Task Force and volunteers at the Equal Access Clinic, a student-run community initiative providing care to underserved populations.
