Matthew Pergamo, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine where he currently practices as an academic surgeon. He completed his undergraduate degree at The George Washington University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a second Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He then graduated from New York University School of Medicine in 2017 where he completed the Honors Program and received the Glover C Arnold Award for excellence in Surgery. Dr. Pergamo then remained at NYU for the rest of his medical training and completed first his residency in General Surgery in 2022 and then his Vascular Surgery Fellowship in 2024. Upon completion of his training Dr. Pergamo joined the faculty at Stony Brook University and is now the Associate Program Director of the Vascular Surgery residency program. In addition to his membership in the American Venous Forum, he is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery as well as the Eastern Vascular Society where he serves on the Simulation committee.
