Cardiovascular Surgery
Gulhane Training and Research Hospital
ANKARA, Ankara, Turkey
I am a cardiovascular surgeon at Gülhane Training and Research Hospital in Ankara, Türkiye, where I actively perform both cardiac surgery and vascular (arterial and venous) operations. My professional training began at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine, where I earned my medical degree, followed by a cardiovascular surgery residency at Gazi University, during which I developed a special interest in venous pathophysiology and translational vascular research.
Throughout my career, I have sought to bridge the gap between experimental science and clinical vascular practice. My research focuses on venous disease management, post-thrombotic syndrome, and ischemia–reperfusion injury. I have conducted multiple experimental studies investigating the endothelial nitric oxide pathway, oxidative stress modulation, and vascular protection mechanisms, contributing to the understanding of how cellular and biochemical responses can influence clinical outcomes after venous and arterial injury. These studies have been published in both national and international peer-reviewed journals and presented at leading scientific meetings.
I am an active member of several professional societies, including the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS), The College of Phlebology, and the Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, through which I continue to collaborate with international colleagues in advancing venous surgery and endovascular techniques.
My ongoing clinical and academic mission is to combine evidence-based vascular and cardiac surgical practice with innovative research to improve outcomes and patient quality of life in complex vascular disease.
