Anselmo Pagani, MSc, PhD Candidate, is a Doctoral Researcher in Translational Neurosciences and Neurotechnologies at the University of Ferrara. His work focuses on cerebral venous drainage, peripheral venous function in special conditions, and non-invasive methods for haemodynamic monitoring.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and a Master’s degree in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity. His early work on exercise for chronic venous insufficiency informed his interest in venous and lymphatic function.
Within the Drain Brain 2.0 project, developed by the Italian Space Agency and the University of Ferrara, he has supported clinical activities, performed ultrasound assessments, contributed to the Test Readiness Review at NASA, and provided familiarisation sessions to astronauts on the experimental device.
During a Visiting PhD period at Imperial College London in 2025, he contributed to research on venous leg ulcer management, including a systematic review and meta-analysis on exercise-based interventions.
He aims to integrate exercise science, vascular physiology, and non-invasive monitoring to support research with clinical and spaceflight applications.
