Glenn Jacobowitz MD, serves as the System Chief of Vascular Surgery of Northwell Health, Professor of Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. and as an Attending Surgeon in Vascular Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. A recent Past President of the American Venous Forum, he is a nationally and internationally recognized board-certified vascular surgeon with a wealth of experience diagnosing, treating and managing complex vascular disorders, including both venous and arterial disease. He has devoted his career to advancing patient care through pioneering techniques and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Dr Jacobowitz is recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive endovascular procedures and was among the first surgeons to perform minimally invasive endovenous ablation in 2001.
Dr Jacobowitz received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center. Prior to joining Northwell in 2024, Dr Jacobowitz served as the Frank J Veith, MD Professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Division Chief of Vascular Surgery at NYU Langone Health. Throughout his career he has made significant contributions to academic medicine, publishing more than 175 peer-reviewed articles, authoring 22 book chapters, and delivering invited lectures at over 100 national and international conferences. His research and clinical work have been instrumental in establishing best practices in vascular care.
