Monika Lecomte Gloviczki, MD, PhD, is a Research Fellow and Research Collaborator, Emeritus of the Department of Internal Medicine and Gonda Vascular Center, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
Dr. Gloviczki earned her MD and PhD titles at the University Rene Descartes in Paris, France. She also obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Research and received University Diploma in Phlebology in Paris.
For 15 years, Dr. Gloviczki worked at Servier Laboratories, on preclinical and clinical research studies involving Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction (MPFF) and on the development of new drugs for venous and lymphatic disorders. Together with Dr. Bergan, they started the “International Venous Digest by Fax.” She organized and edited a series of Atlas of Veins and Lymphatics and launched the journal Phlebolymphology.
In 2007, Dr. Gloviczki joined Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, as a Research Fellow in the Division of Hypertension and Nephrology, and received the Mayo Clinic Department of Medicine Outstanding Research Fellow Award. She was a Research Collaborator of the Gonda Vascular Center. Her research included renovascular hypertension, and the epidemiology of venous ulcers in Olmsted County. Dr. Gloviczki is the author/co-author of 41 publications and 10 book chapters. She had 95 oral/poster presentations at national and international meetings. She was Assistant Editor of the 3rd/4th Edition and Associate Editor of the 5th Edition of the Handbook of Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Venous Forum (AVF) and 2026-year recipient of the AVF Founders Award. She served in the Venous Ulcer Guidelines, Lymphedema, and Varicose Vein Guidelines Committees. Dr. Gloviczki is an Honorary Member of the French College of Vascular Pathology, the French Society of Phlebology, the Polish Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Latin American Venous Forum. She lives with her husband, Dr. Peter Gloviczki, a vascular surgeon, in Scottsdale, AZ.
