Houman Jalaie led the establishment of a program for venous surgery and intervention which grew to be one of the largest in Europe. In July 2019, he was appointed as the Director of the European Venous Center. He is course director of the venous section of the European Vascular Course (EVC) in Maastricht. Additionally, in 2019, Dr. Jalaie was appointed as the Head of the Phlebology Commission of the German Society for Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. He was appointed as head of the Venous Surgery and Phlebology of University Hospital Charité Berlin. His special interests revolve around the treatment of DVT and PTS.
Dr. Jalaie has been a principal or co-investigator in several clinical trials and studies involving interventional treatment of DVT and PTS. To date, he has authored or co-authored more than 100 different scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters. His latest papers cover innovations in endovascular treatment of deep venous pathologies and its outcome. He has given over 400 guest lectures at national and international meetings.
